The ornaments were crafted by the parents and children in the school. The parents and children worked together to put each child's hand print on the ornament, and then parents helped to turn the hand prints into snowmen and reindeer decorations on the ornaments. Our tree topper is a picture of our school, we are based out of a house in a residential neighborhood and it symbolizes the family feel of our school community. The decorations were a collaborative process that models the spirit of our school.
Santa Clara Parents Nursery School is a parent participation and co-operative nursery school. The school was organized in 1956. Every family shares in the planning and operation of the school. Parents assist the teachers by working in the classroom every week and perform jobs throughout the year to maintain and develop our school. At Santa Clara Parents Nursery School, children learn through hands-on experience and active play. We provide an environment that promotes childrens physical, social, intellectual and creative development. It is our belief that parents and children both benefit from parental involvement in the first years of school.
Our school open house is in February 2015. Specifically the week of Feb 2-6. As a non-profit, we are always seeking ways to invite new families to join our school community. Interested families can come take a tour of the school and see our play-based approach in action. We have a two year old, three year old and four year old program, so if you have a preschooler you are looking to enroll in school, come check out our nursery school.
