Luso American YC #11 Tree #362

Each of our youth members (approx. 25 kids) decorated an ornament for the tree with their name and picture on it. We also added Portuguese flags to represent our heritage and neon colors that were part of our theme for our convention performance in August in Fresno.

Youth Council #11 is a member of Luso's Fraternal Benefit Society and located in Mountain View/Santa Clara. The children (ages 2-18) perform Portuguese folkloric dances in California for various charities, including church functions and social cultural activities. They also compete against other councils at their annual convention. This year the convention was held in Fresno against 13 other groups & our kids did an amazing job in their performance.

Youth Council #11 has been very active throughout the year. They performed at various events including the City of Santa Clara's Art and Wine Festival; their annual fundraiser dinner; and IFES' Christmas Party. They also participated in many parades including the Holy Ghost Parade in Mountain View; Our Lady of Peace Parade in Santa Clara; as well as Dia de Portugal parade.

The kids were excited to be in the parades and support their youth council. Youth Council #11 enjoys spending time together. This year the kids had a roller skating party; a Halloween party; decorated a tree at Christmas in the Park; went to an Easter Egg Hunt; had a blast at Jungle Island; and hosted a Luau for their fundraiser dinner.
