Interact District 5170 Tree #360

Interact is a high school community service club sponsored by Rotary to promote Service Above Self. We focus on building leaders to change the world. Interact District 5170 is the largest district in the world working on a Community and International Project.

This year, Interact District 5170's District Council of all high school students asked every school in our district to create an ornament that is relevant to our projects of this year. All ornaments are handmade by students. The heart ornaments represent our Community Project called HEART which focuses on youth empowerment through arts and service. The sun ornaments represent our International Project, The Answer is the Sun, which works with Solar heated cookers to be sent to Afghan refugees.

Last year we created ornaments that followed our leadership slogans and community service quotes. We come back every year to the park because it is a great way to express to the community the passion that every one of Interact's members - whom are all students - possess and how we all come together to create a better place to live.

Donations are always welcome and will go towards our International Project by creating more solar cookers that Interact members create and send to the Afghan refugee camps.
