This Christmas tree was a project of the Expressive Arts Therapy Program which asked both staff and the at-risk youth we serve to create framed pictures that presented what they pictured as a better world. Our tree title is "Picture a Better World".
Three sites participated: our Crisis Residential Homeless Teen Shelter for youth ages 11-17, Quetzal House, a Group Home for youth 11-17, and Our Transitional Aged Drop In Center for youth ages 16-24. Staff from all three sites as well as our administrative staff created frames of a better world.
In our best world, there would be no need for shelters or group homes, as there would be healthy, happy families without trauma, abuse, or neglect. There would also be peace and compassion on earth.
