We have now participated in decorating a Christmas tree three times in the past four years. We enjoy making ornaments with our children and then meeting with our families to decorate the tree on Thanksgiving weekend. It is a fun experience and creative outlet for both moms and children and makes visiting Christmas in the Park that much more special for all of us.
As a non-profit agency, we do donate our time and money to local charities to help support other moms and children in need. Our organization plays an active role in reminding society that moms who choose to stay home with their children are making a valuable contribution to society and that at-home moms should be given as much credit for their choice as those that choose to return to work. Our organization also allows its members to network, which is as important for stay-at-home moms as it is for any business person. This allows our members to have the opportunity to share ideas, concerns, and provide inspiration to each other. We welcome all visitors and potential new members to our group.
Our Moms Club of Santa Teresa/Blossom Hill chapter is a part of an international non-profit organization called the Moms Club. It was founded in 1983 when Mary James, an at-home mother in California, decided she was tired of being alone at home. She wanted to meet other at-home mothers and she wanted to find other at-home children for her children to play with. When she discovered there were no other organizations that met during the day and allowed her to come with her baby and preschooler, she decided to start a brand new organization just for at-home moms, and the MOMS Club was born. We now have 2,100+ chapters in the US alone and over 100,000 members. We also have International chapters. The Moms Club stands for 'Moms Offering Moms Support'. Our local Santa Teresa/Blossom Hill chapter was founded in 2005 and has been growing steadily with almost 60 members.
