The holiday season often evokes memories of loved ones who are no longer with us. Hospice of the Valley is honoring those who are being remembered during this meaningful time by displaying the names as gift tags on our memorial tree.
The tree was decorated by girls who have personally been touched by Hospice of the Valley with a grandmother who was on care and has passed and a great-grandmother who is currently being served by Hospice of the Valley.
While decorating the tree, a family served by Hospice of the Valley came over and thanked us for helping their family. The widow hung her husband's name on the tree facing their granddaughter's Brownie troop tree, which was one tree over. It was a meaningful moment shared by three generations.
For many years, Hospice of the Valley had a "Tree of Life" at Christmas in the Park and is now returning after a 10 year hiatus due to the significant meaning a memorial tree has for our families.
Whether your family has received Hospice of the Valley services or you know of someone who has, a gift to Hospice of the Valley will ensure that others in our community who are facing serious illness or experiencing loss will receive the support they need.
