This was the second year that First Presbyterian Church San Jose has had a tree at Christmas in the Park. The ornaments contain words and symbols that we hope embody our calling as a congregation, at Christmas and year round: faith, joy, peace, hope, and love.
We are a proud downtown church. A few of our members gather together to make the ornaments, joining our Prayer Shawl Ministry knitters and crocheters. Others meet to decorate the tree - from Elders of the church to toddlers in the Sunday School program. It is a multigenerational effort!
We are a welcoming congregation, and invite all to attend worship with us. There are many opportunities to help others in our community through mission projects with local schools or shelters, or ongoing participation in efforts such as the Brown Bag program or Live Oak Adult Care.
